It’s not a common occurrence that I find a truly 100% mineral K-sunscreen. But this is just that - no pesky boosters like butyloctyl salicylate (which I’m allergic to). As such, this does leave a significant white cast, even on my pale skin (I’m usually a 19-21 in cushion foundations, depending on the season). However, that is to be expected, since it’s a zinc based SPF product. It does get better as it sinks in. I’m attaching a picture of my arm, you can clearly tell where I applied the cream.
With all that being said, I really like this sunscreen. I don’t find it to be drying, which cannot be said about other similar sunscreens. It’s definitely NOT hydrating, with all that zinc in it, but my skin doesn’t feel dry, if I prep it right beforehand.
The ingredient list is great, a lot of humectants and emolients. The texture is lovely, the scent is very pleasant (although it’s an added fragrance) and not irritating to my nose. Not very easy to get off, so perfect for swimming. Makeup lays just fine on top. Elegant packaging and my skin isn’t irritated after using this for a couple of weeks.
All in all, I’m giving it 5 stars, even though it has some significant flaws. Just because I have yet to find something even close in performance that’s also truly mineral and not just pretending to be.
