1. Does kojic acid body wash work?

Kojic acid inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that triggers melanin production in skin. Research supports its role in reducing hyperpigmentation, dark spots and uneven tone. In a body wash, contact time is short compared to leave-on products, so results are gradual typically visible after 6–8 weeks of consistent use alongside daily sunscreen

2. Can I use kojic acid body wash every day?

Yes, this formulation is designed for daily use. It contains 200 ppm (0.02%) kojic acid, which is far below concentrations used in prescription treatments and well-tolerated on most skin types. If you have very sensitive skin or compromised skin barrier, start with 3–4 times per week

3. Why might my skin look darker after using kojic acid?

Kojic acid can make skin more sensitive to UV exposure. Without daily sunscreen, sun exposure triggers more melanin production which can worsen the dark spots you're trying to fade. Always apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher on any skin treated with kojic acid, including your body if exposed. Rebound darkening is almost always linked to unprotected sun exposure, not the kojic acid itself.
